Seem a good price. You do know that the FEA you've done is a bit irrelevant as the restraints have not been setup correctly? You've set it up to show a force acting down on the pedal (which is correct) and then set a restraint for the bolt through holes at the bottom of the pedal. You should have set this as a felxible or connector and then set the mounting hole for the bias bar/master cylinder push rod as another force exerting to counteract the force on the top of the pedal. I think you'll find that your new design is probably weaker if you refine the FEA. I'm sure its still well over-engineered though. Oli.

Oli, you are right on this. The reason i made it simpler was because i didn't want to find the actual limits of the pedals but only make some simple comparisons between several designs. If the original design is strong enough (and many people have tested it in practice), my new design will be even stronger, while being lighter.
