Tried the spanners in the past, really crappy, or I'm super strong, buy good quality ones from halfords.

Looks about the only thing worth buying doesnt.
- I agree that with tools, buy cheap, buy twice.

Ive just bought a set of 11 britool combination spanners today. Umm'ed and ahhed over it. But in the end the only decision was whether to go for a open ended set and a off-set ring or to go for the combos.

Halfords with a trade card is cheap, britool currently have a load of deals on tools on, draper pro from chromedealer on ebay. Not aldi and lidl. Imo.

I bought a set of flex head ratchet spanners from Halfords, top quality and cheap (in comparison). Had a mate who used to work for Halfords and he reckoned their tools were made by Britool anyway. (Don't know how true this is???)

On top of that they are probably from the Pro range so have a lifetime warrant.

Looked at this months Classic car mag. The Halfords torque wrench was number 1, not only reversible wrench but not much over 1% innacuracy.

The Lifetime Guarantee for Halfords Professional Tools covers damage

Moving parts such as ratchet mechanisms are not covered but the metal part of the tool is.

Halfords tools are made by sykes pickavant IIRC, they even share the same font on the writing on all their kit, torque wrenches are the same only in different colours etc.

One thing to note is that the ratchet end on the halfords ones aren't covered by any guarantee, which is why I bought snap on blue point ones, pricey but nicey

edit: I'm having a mong moment and didn't read the post above^^^^
