They say that a 2.0 on throttle bodies and aftermarket ECU should make 190-ish bhp. Anyone know what sort of power gains could be expected from the 2.3 over the 2.0?

Soneone got a bargain - a brand new 2.3 for £850 has got to be worth having...!?

ASFAIK, the 2.3 tends to make about 10% more power/torque than the 2.0.

I thought the 2.3 was from galaxy's, and is not the same engine as the 2.0litre ... as in not as advanced just badged up.

May be wrong

In this country I think they are, but if it is a US engine, then the 2.3 is a stroked 2.0 (AFAIK!).

The 2.0 and 2.3 are the same engine.

The difference is in the stroke (bore is the same) and the block is approx 11mm taller than the 2.0

If its the all ali block then its the proper duratec and not an old zetec.

£850 for a new engine is a bargain.

2.3 makes a little more torque than the 2.0. The power is approx the same

That said the 2.3 isnt that simple. Some of the 2.3 engines (not all) have a balance shaft on the crank, which is really rather heavy and negates any benenfits as you cant easily up the rev limit. Though there are kits out to remove the balance shaft from the 2.3.

Cheers David... I'd heard the power output difference wasn't huge in stock trims.
