OT 32" LCD HD TV opinions
Hi all,
Sorry but have another non car related quandry.......
Am looking for a decent LCD TV but as with all things in my life I dont have much cash to spend. I am looking for a 32" so am after any advice
you all may have.......
I am a bit confused by the whole HD descriptions as well.......is 1080p the top standard or is 1080i the best?
Any advice gratefully received.....

1080p is the best. If it is 1080i then it has been upscaled at some point.

P stands for progressive and i stands for interlaced-
What this means is 1080 lines top to bottom of the screen, with p every line is filled with picture, with i every other line is.
So P is better than I.
Also some TV's are 720 lines and are not as good but will still be marked HD.
In my opinion Panasonic are the best if you got the cash, but I don't tend to be a brand snob and just buy what I like.

Have been trawling amazon and some Toshibas seem to have been getting rave reviews - anyone got any horror stories about Toshibas?

hi, i just got a lg 32" lcd from currys, it is great it is 1080p, 100hz and has 4 hdmi, 2 scarts and 2 compents, so realy good.
i will say the pituce in hd is great, as i got the upscalling to 1080p home cinnema as well, and my xbox on it.
highly recomend, it was £400 for the tv and £200 for the home threather.

My sister and Mum have Samsung widescreen TV's. Both have been excellent.
Personally I have had Sony's for my last two TV's. Both have been good, even if both were expensive.
I agree, go 1080P.
HD Freeview is almost here, and 1080P will make you benefit when you get HD transmissions.
You can even connect up a cheap FreeSat box to get HD.
Make sure you have HDMI inputs, and perhaps a 15way VGA or a DVA input for computer stuff.
Basically a TV should last you 10 years, so think about things you might connect to it over that period.
Streaming TV from the internet, or Videos from your PC etc etc.
Just my 2d's worth.

I have got a 37" 1080p toshiba regza.
Its the best tv i have ever bought,
i will buy another.

I have a Sony 1080p and it gives a great picture, especially with High Deff tv.
I went to see Avatar the other night and WOW what a fantastic film, so it got me thinking that i need a Blue-ray player ready for when it's
released in 3d format, but it seems there aren't any 3d compatible players yet. And also i might need a new telly as well.
Does anyone have any info on watching 3d at home, I've already noticed 3d Blue-ray movies at Tescos.

Thanks for the help folks. Order placed with Amazon............... Gone for the Toshiba as it seemed to have all the features and praise of the LG
but with a few more inputs..........

We've just bought an LG 2 days ago LG LH3000 from curry's on offer whilst stocks last £329 full 1080p really pleased with it.

bland compared to normal version.

They play on any telly, you just need the old blue/cyan glasses like you wear at the cinema, I just ordered some from Ebay for £1 to watch Final
Destination in 3D
