How to get rid of rust in an engine block

For some reason, my xflow block, that has been empty for a couple of years, yet in the car with water drained, yet sealed is rusty ?

I had it running a couple of weeks ago, and the water is a VERY rusty consistancy

Is it ok to flush a couple of times , and then mix up some antifreeze and refill ??
or should i look at getting something to stop the rusting process

regards

Steve

Just stick a "rad flush" in it & run it for a few miles, then flush with clean water.
Then refill with coolant.
Antifreeze is a rust inhibitor in itself.

Something about this, so very wrong.....I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn`t like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drain the coolant remove the thermostat, remove the bottom hose and back flush by connecting a garden hose to the top hose outlet on the engine.

Then do the same for the rad by connection to the bottom hose connection on the rad.

Refill with a 50% antifreeze solution ---- suggest using an OAT longlife antifreeze coolant.
