Birkins a very good make of seven but they get written off with minor damage as there isnt any repairers to do the job.
Thus most cheap birkins have lost the registration mark as write offs.
I had a near miss.....

surly only a cat C or D write off though?

Uneconomical repair I'd guess, so it wouldn't loose its road reg.

Cat C or D would need a VIC (vehicle identity check) carried out at VOSA station. V5 would be retained by insurers but registration number would be the same after VIC, but new V5 would be supplied which would make mention of the write-off, which obviously would affect the resale value.

That car looks like its been through a hard racing life.
We had a near miss with a Birkin that had been crashed and a passed on. It didn't have a registration with the dvla. It had a log book but was a write off and wasnt supposed to be on the road.

It got sent back to its home land ......warts and all....

What would happen if you just bought the bits, built the car and then put it through IVA and registered it as a new or age related build...?

As there's no engine with it the only issue I can see is the existing chassis number - you could just request a new chassis number from the DVLA as a lot of builders do when completing their build.

Might not end up registered as a Birkin though guess...?
