Ive got a VDO oil presure sender and gauge but no take off for a warning light.
- Are all vdo senders compatible or do certain gauges need certain ones? how can you tell?

From reading after looking at this thread and considering one of these..

http://www.vegasvik.com/emden/gauges/pressure2.jpg

This wiring diagram would tell me WK goes to light, G goes to Guage...

Its something id like in my car too after a recent over heating issue.. i just didnt notice the guages while racing so i think it makes sense to mount a BIG light on the guage for water temp and oil pressure.
