1991 Volkwagon Scirocco GTII

Hey guys, trying to sell a car for a mate, as title it's a 1991 Volkwagon Scirrocco GTII.
He describes it thus:

"Good:
Low Mileage (96376 on the odometer)
Mint interior
New Windscreen
New front tires
Near new battery
New rear brakes
New exhaust from the manifold back.

Bad:
No Tax
No MOT
Damage to rear left panel
One odd wheel"

In the interests of honesty I should say the battery is flat, the red paint is faded to pink and the car appears to have several rust spots forming. The front right foglight is held on with Gaffa tape.
However it does start and runs sweetly, it appears to be mechanically sound and would make someone a good project. Also there will hopefully be a replacement panel for the damaged one included in the sale.
He wants £500 for it, but make me any offer and I'll run it past him. Please help me remove this pink thing from my drive!

Edit: Only forgot the bloody pics didn't I?

TBH I'm of the same opinion, just posted because I can then tell my mate I tried and he has unrealistic expectations.

sadly no mot or tax means 99% of people wont touch it

my golf sat on the driveway for a couple of months, no tax or test w reg mk4 tdi, just ran out and wasnt being used, put it in the paper for £250 not a single call

in the end I have put it back on the road, we just wanted it out of the way initially, but then we actually needed it so glad it didnt sell LOL

I wonder if theres a "club" as such for these, do they have any form of cult status, maybe a specialist site might be better place for it? but I would be surprised.

Worth its weight in scrap metal

Clubwise - No Rice are a (localish to me though!) club and also edition38 are two VW forum/clubs i know of. My bro is a member and has a Mint rocco. When tidy they can be worth somthing as they have a small but dedicated following.

But. as stated, with TnT its worth very little unless it was tidy in other areas, which it doesnt appear to be, or if it were a Ltd scala model.

Have to agree, I once got a GTX one of these, tidy, FSH, MOTd for under £100.

There is a Scirocco forum he could try but really he'd be lucky to get £200 as is.

Actually had a guy offer £150 for it, which I think is quite generous. However it isn't up to me unfortunately!
