I seem to recall someone on here doing just that and fitting a twin turbo set-up.

As above, the engine is awesome. However getting a manual box to mate up is a PITA.
You need:
- Custom adapter plate/bell housing to fit your choice of box
- Custom flywheel since there are no known flywheels that just bolt on. You can slot an MR2 item, but that's generally considered
dangerous.
- Clutch with throwout bearing (or you may get away with using the one that goes with the 'box).
However get the right engine and you can get it up to about 500bhp without having to crack open the engine, 1000bhp with a set of new pistons
apparently (all FI of course). They don't tend to breathe very well for NA.
That car is on the borderline I think, after '95 they reduced the size of the conrods so those would also need replacing.
This is all from memory, so may vary in accuracy lol
If disfunction is a function, then I must be some kind of genius.
