using a BMW diff and shafts etc

Ive been looking at using a BMW diff etc for my next build, mainly as they cheap and locally easy to source

however from looking at pics online the rear hub carrier bit thingy appear to be rather complex, as opposed to the nice simple sierra 4 bolt affair

anyone used any of the BMW back ends and able to recomend or advise on making rear uprights to suit?

thanks

Tony

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it breaks, hit them with it

And there are also some really extreme ratios available - I have a 2.28:1 from a ?30 diesel.

I think the fitting that may be causing you some "distress" may be the bell shaped thing which I suspect is just a torque related thing.

I was gonna put this diff in toy car with hydrid sierra/bmw shafts, but it's for sale now so maybe in the next project
