Camping in the Netherlands.
Some people I work with have offered me money to drive them to Amsterdam and I quite like the idea. As much as I loathe Amsterdam itself I really like
most of the Netherlands and Belgium and I need a holiday. They were planning on going to a hostile but I think it would be just as cheap (And more
fun) to Camp either in a tent or static caravan.
Can anyone reccomend anywhere to start looking? Ideally I'd like to be within an hours drive of Amsterdam, or better yet near a train station
with direct connections.
Any reccomendations on what to see? I'm planning on going to Delft (I've been there before and love it) and to the model city if I can
remember where it was or what it was called.

A recommend I got from Locost (where else) if your going to Delft is to have coffee and apple pie at Kobus Kuch .
Haarlem is worth a look round, like Amsterdam without all the tourists. Not sure how long your there, but last time I paid about 24e for a day
transport pass. I started in Delft, and fitted in Rotterdam, Den Haag, Haarlem and then Amsterdam and back to Delft in a day.

These might be stupid questions but...
How well do you know these "people at work"? Will you be relaxed coming through customs with them?

Hi, Look at www.ukcampsite.co.uk they have lots of reviews of campsites all over Europe. There is an add on to Google Earth called Archies campings
which will put campsites onto Google Earth for the whole of Europe too.

I think with the model city you mean Madurodam.

for camping near The Hague (Den Haag )
Duinrell in Wassenaar
is worth a look.
ps as ruudbeckers says, madurodam, is the model city, and its in The Hague.
edit: correct the spelling

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to look at getting one of those transport passes.

I did it a few years ago, we camped a fair drive out of Amsterdam but had a blast.
Sorry can't remember any specifics

Camping Zeeburg - stayed there a couple of years ago - very well equipped site, and very close to the centre of Amsterdam - a tram ride away.

Thanks, that place seems perfect. And the tram being there means I can go off to Delft and madurodam while they're in Amsterdam.

I don't see how it's that strange, I'm being paid to take people to Amsterdam which for me is the third worst place I've ever
been to (Paris and North Wales) but I really love the rest of the country, and camping.
