Spotted this low mileage Rover Diesel Glasgow

Intercity Auctions have a very nice low mileage post face lift Rover 75 CDTi from Arnol Clark --- It has been in for a few sales and isn't making reserve, I have seen the car and it is exceptionally nice one only faults I could see are it has a minor bumper scuff and needs a couple tyres. Intercity Auctions are not busy at the moment with few buyers so I think it it will have a tough time meeting reserve. I think about £2500 at fall of hammer should get it.

Why would anyone be interested in that? Not surprised it hasn't reached its reserve.

I wouldn't even consider paying over £1500 for that... £2500 gets you a Passat from the same era - know which one I'd have.

they will struggle to get anywhere near that, I've just picked up a 2006 x type diesel with 80k, fsh and with tax and test for just over 2.5k. Granted its only a mondeo in a posh frock but still more desirable than a rover.

The last couple of auctions I went to at intercity were dead, even dealers are realising that you can prowl the private ads for great cheap cars, easier to haggle and no indemnity fees. Especially at this time of year.

Strangely diesel Mondeos if anything actually fetch more than X types probably because of parts & insurance costs and and the fact the X type is a bit more rust pone than its sister Mondeo.

Excessive auction fees are killing auctions because to please main dealers the auction sheds are pushing the fees on to the buyer rather than the seller.
Although charges to buyers are getting excessive indemnity charges give the buyer protection against the crooks. Intercity are very quiet just now because I suspect they have lost a major dealer network seller in the last few months.

But the fact is a good clean low mileage medium sized quality diesel car with a very full service history particularly one with particularly good reliable diesel engine without a DPF or coded injectors , or swirl flaps or one prone turbo blow ups will find the right buyer. There are loads of medium sized diesel cars on the market but most are minicab fodder with 120,000 to 180,00 miles on the clock

1500 is the going rate for a Rover diesel with 2 to 3 times the mileage.
