This is a Duratec bell, that is indeed a Pinto.

The starter motor bulge is an easy give away, Duratec doesn't have one

Definitely not a photo of a Duratec bellhousing - wrong bolt pattern and starter motor openning is low whereas should be high up.

Wrong photo?

Wasn't the early ST engine referred to as a Duratec, but in reality a modded Zetec?

first off as above the pics are of an iron ford 4cyl to type 9 bellhousing

the one you'd most likley find in a sierra or granada with a pinto or CVH

yes, but your thinking of the ST170 - the one in the Focus ST170
that was a modified zetec-E re-branded as a duratec (it still has an iron block)

that one is caliming to fit an ST150 'Fiesta' engine - the ST150 is a real all alloy duratec-HE
its more or less the mondeo 2.0 with the EGR and dual mass flywheel removed (no VVT either)
