Yes you can its called an age related plate. Of course the car still needs to be ivad etc.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

But that's not the " reg on the car ". He's saying there's a V5 so slap the Sierra plates on and off you go.
