I have bought a few Cat c, and never had a problem, as all done through reputable salvage sites
I would NEVER buy a car of an ebay, or any other site, when the logbook is not present, just like this one

As long as you get a receipt with the car you are fine, you can't get the V5 in your name till you MOT the car and have a VIC done at VOSA.
I've done a couple in the last 5 years no problem.
