Main beam tell tale (savage) flickering at 4-6k rpm

Took the car out for its first proper drive tonight and noticed that my blue main beam telltale within the savage switch was flickering faintly when the dipped light was on and the engine was at 4-6k rpm approx.

Any ideas what could be causing this to happen? Just to clarify, this is flickering when the main beam is off. When it is on the telltale lights up no problem.

Cheers

Sounds like you may have a slight short on the lighting circuit caused by a loose wire.. I have a similar thing after i fitted a warning buzzer for my sidelights.. but i know what that one is.. did you do the wiring?

yup, i had an mk lloom but wired all switches myself. Looks like a winter job to strip it down, shouldnt be too much of an issue until then.

I dont plan on doing much night driving - it was the first run after getting number plates and it was late yesterday when I got in

Cheers

check the earthing at the headlights,

my guess is vibration is causing an earth fault, and the dip beam current runs through main beam filament, and via telltail to earth.

It's the only downside to the savage switches, I too have a similar issue and it's down to a loose connection, I wish they would make a proper connection plug to go with them especially for what they cost!
