Another Zetec Supercharger (pic heavy)
Hey everyone,
Happy new year to you all. Just thought I’d share some photos of my latest supercharger project. This is again an eaton MP62 charger and this time a
silvertop zetec. Hopefully someone may find these useful (and hopefully I've been successful in shrinking the photo sizes).
Apologies as the photos have slipped out of sequence when resizing

Looks lovely, did you wind the wheels all by hand around the curvy bits?

Looks great, but why does the alternator have to be spaced so far out from the engine?

Hi, thanks for the kind words.
The curvy bits of ally where done very carefully on the milling machine by moving x and y (by hand) in very small increments and then smoothing with a
file and emery afterwards.
The alternator spacing isn't ideal but had to be far enough away to clear the water pump outlet;

Are you running with the standard pistons and compression ratio?
I fancy doing something similar on my blacktop but as its all standard internals and never been started id like to leave it as is for the time being.
All I need is the super charger and I like you I have the equipment to make everything else myself.

Generally speaking these kind of chargers only produce 7-8psi of boost which is fine for standard internals and no decompression plate.
I've read (from memory Bailey Performance) that you can go up to 11psi on standard internals but I've never gone this high myself.

The charger is a Eaton mp62 and off a merc clk 230 (maybe others as well).
It the charger which has an electromagnetic clutch pulley, which you need as it has a really fine splined hub which you need to modify into a much
smaller pulley.

That looks very well constructed and assembled. To have access to some of these machines and then to have any ability to use them would be cool.

Interesting that you've gone blow-through rather than suck through, given the packaging space. I'm planning to compound a super and a
turbo on my tin-top and that will require suck-through throttle just to fit it all. I'm really pleased to see your manifold/plenum design work,
some tasty work there.
Is that a 5 rib belt?

Turbo + charger would certainly be an interesting project!
The belt is a 6pk
