Lathe for sale
Hi Locostbuilders,
I'm selling my Britannia 4" Metalworking Lathe. I believe it dates from the 1920s or 1930s. Comes with non-original heavy duty stand, drip
tray and storage cupboard.

Description
Originally would have been treadle operated, but has been converted to use a single phase 1/3 HP motor at some point in it's life. Power is
controlled using a clutch that is neatly integrated within the stand.
The lathe has a set of change wheels for screw cutting.
Requires a new 1300mm v-belt fitting to transfer power from the motor. Otherwise everything works and seems to be in reasonable condition.
Includes 3 and 4 jaw chucks, faceplate, tailstock chuck and a box of various cutting tools and other bits.
I bought this with the ambition of making all sorts of bits for my project back at the peak of my build back in 2008. But never got around to really
using it. Am now moving to a house with a smaller garage and the lathe needs to go.
Not really sure what it's worth. From memory I think I paid around £250 for it back in 2008. It's on fleabay, but would happy take a
reasonable offer from a fellow Locostbuilder.
It's bloody heavy, so collection only. I'm in Lingfield in Surrey.
