That be my ol' engine!!!!
I sold it to him on ebay several months ago (see his feedback.)
I remember when he picked it up, he said he was going to build an Indy.
Has he said why he's selling? (he told me he'd built a kit car before - so can't be lack of knowledge/skill.)
I remember him saying he was retired, so is it due to ill health, perhaps?
As regards the engine, I bought it from a local Robin Hood owner who was going to upgrade his 1.6 pinto.
But his missus put paid to that - as she thought the 1.6 was plenty fast enough, thank you very much!
He'd removed it from a Sierra he'd been using as a run-about and said it was a strong, smoke-free engine (done 85000 miles approx.)
Hence, I never saw it running (nor did I ever fit it in my Tiger.)
It is a 2.0 pinto with the 205 block and unleaded injection head. I modified the rocker cover (moved filler neck to rear) and painted it along with
the rest of the engine.
I fitted a second-hand Kent FR22 cam and followers (no sign of any wear.)
I fitted a brand new oil and water pump.
The shortened sump and pick-up pipe are from Vulcan Engineering.
I sold it as I saw the light (just in the nick of time!) and opted for a bike engine
I also sold him the Sierra drum braked rear end, including open diff, 8" drums, driveshafts etc.
The shoes, brake cylinders and retaining springs etc. are all new.
HTH,
Andy.

hi andy
thanks for the info thats great, i spoke to the guy earler and he says that he just has not had the time to get stuck into it and is fed up of seeing
it doing nothing so has decided to sell it.
its my lad that is buying it and is chuffed to bits as he is only 15 at the moment and he can't wait to start building his own car.
should look pretty cool with 2 indys parked on the drive, but i fear there are some long cold nights ahead in the garage and i'm sure i,ll end
up picking up the tab for many of the bits.

are the front uprights sierra?
by the look of them, with the pinch bolt at the bottom, they look more like escort ones. will the maxi BJs fit, as i'd expect the bolt would
interfere.
just curious
