Wind up cars....!!!
Still think the Trabant is damn fine in a weird damn fine kinda way.... 2 strokes just have that little bit extra anti-social hooligan about
them....or is that me being an old sentimental git!!!

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I heard that at one time many Soviet cars were made with "compressed cardboard" bodies, but I don't know about the Trabant or if
they maybe changed that on later models.
I've been a passenger in on of these on many drunken occasions in Bulgaria, Romania & the Ukraine - I'd love one.

They have one thing in common with my Indy, no petrol gauge! Weight saving or capitalist luxury.
I used to travel about in East Germany and Poland and used to see them pulled over to the side of the road. Driver would lift the bonnet and open the
tank and have a good look into the filler to see if they needed to fill up.
I think that black thing, just above the spark plugs is the petrol tank. Nice and safe.
IIRC the bodies are are like hardboard with a gel coat on top.

you seem to be talking about safety with respect to a trabant
the whole thing looks inherently unsafe. now a moskvich 1500, that's what you want
