I don't remember the mark 2's having a 5 speedbox and the mark 1's definitely didn't!
I reckon it's a normal Type 9 - it won't fit in the tunel of an Escort without some serious welding or bashing!

I was also wondering if the internals were different/stronger which is why i popped it up there. At least it's there if anyone needs a type9.

no mk2 escort came with a 5 speed apart from the works rally cars which had the zf box.
a type 9 will fit in any rwd escort which may account for his mistake.
if it was a standard rs2000 box it would be a rocket and that would be worth some money
