Saw that earlier. Nice looking motor, no detailed spec in the description though which is always a worry. Plus its only got single coil valve springs
on...a bit odd for a 'race' engine...

Not really. It's a long stroke engine so the rev limit is not going to be astronomical, and as it's an overhead cam engine there
isn't as much valve gear mass to return and you can get pretty heavy duty single springs for the Pinto. I think a lot of people fit duplex valve
springs for the black cat factor, when most of the time it's not needed.

Was just going by whats suggested in Des Hamills book. Most 'race' engines would rev to at least 7500rpm, even a 2.3 I would think.
Engines routinely revved to more than 7k higher spring rate valve springs are needed to avoid valve bounce. Most people use double valve springs to
get the desired 'over the nose' pressure. But as you say it is possible with single coil springs.
