Just a thought but as Ford owns Mazda and the Duratec is supposed to be based on a Mazda design are these the same engines that are used in the Mazda
6 and would a gear box from MX5 bolt on?
Build your own sports car for £250 my ar5e!!

Actually ford owns 33% of mazda
If it really is based on a mazda design then there is a possibility, but I doubt it.

Just as an aside, is a 2 litre Mondeo Zetec PS130 worth £100?.. I know where one is, but I dont need it.

The Ford Duratec 2.0l is a mazda engine. In the US, it is used on mazda 3's and ford focus's. It may also be used on the low end mazda
6's, but i am not sure.
Is that 500gbp price a good deal for a duratec in the UK? In the US, i can get a 2005 focus duratec engine, fairly complete, for around $500....ie,
about half that 500gbp price.
