I'm guessing they're cheap because neither have an engine fitted. Not a serious issue for people on this site, but probably a show-stopper for most

Is it because summer is coming?
The only problem with buying this is I can't really say I've built one . . . . oh decisions.

the westy is not IRS the f27 looked ok I didn’t like the look of the rear suspension arms down the side of the car? it has the front shocks on the inside under the nose cone which sort of make up for it don’t now if this is standard?

yep, f27 have inboard shocks.

that silver one was on ebay, didn;t sell for £ 1,995 so I guess the price is loweredto make it sell.

that has gotta be a bargain, even cheaper than mine; 1 K should see it on the road with nice engine.

and registered so no SVA issues!

The front inboard suspension is standard but the rear has been modified as F27s usually have forward facing arms mounted from just inside the rear panel.
The only bad thing about the front suspension is that they have undone the good aero work of inboard mounting by using square section top rocker arms which must be very inefficient for airflow. I was considering making some round or oval ones for mine but then opted for more power instead.
Sounds like you got a bargain Graham.

Get real!!
Any Lotus 7 inspired car is totally un-aerodynamic. Do you honestly believe a bit of square tube v round tube makes one scrap of difference in the real world?

Drat, guess I should have phoned. I sent an email regarding the Westy, but received no answer. I can't find it on Pistonheads anymore either... Am going to do it the proper way.

The F27 was on Pistonheads with its engine etc a while ago. I ummed and arrrrd for a while, then took the plunge and said 'I'll have it'. The chap repleid with 'sorry, just this minute sold it'. Bugger. It was a bargain - F27, with QBD tuned XE, Jenvey throttle bodies, MBE management, dry sump etc, all for £3750. I wish I had pulled my finder out. The chap who bought it took the engine out, and whacked the chassis on ebay. As previously said it didnt sell (£3000 firstly, then £1950, now even cheaper!)... Still a bit of a bargain me thinks...!
