Roll Bars
Just seen these. Attach them to the seats and get rid of that unwanted passenger?
Boing!

These would be very cool to have on a seven. Any idea how they are activated though? If they're linked into the airbag etc ecu they could be
hard to get working.

think the merc ones work the same, can remember an episode of topgear where clarkson got an slk onto 3 wheels semi sideways and the roll bars popped
out.

Question is whether it's got a ecu that normally controls other stuff or if it's just the bars and the tilt sensor working on their own,
in which case they could very easily be incorporated into a kit car.
Can these things be reset easily? You'd want to test them before relying on them to save your life!
Edit: Found a load of interesting info here: http://forums.firehouse.com/archive/index.php/t-19705.html
One of the things that will set the BMW bars off is being airborne for more than 80ms! I'm sure I've achieved more than that on a
hump-backed bridge
