A few years back my next door neighbour showed me why he'd been spending endless nights in a garage that no one else had ever been in...
He'd spent 8 years restoring a 1970 Escort RS 1600 to a standard I consider much better than this (including a 2.0l cosworth turbo lump
transplant, enough chrome to need sunglasses, immaculate custom interior and all finished in a gorgeous Mexico red finish).
He sold for that for £23,000 so I can't work out where the value for money is here I'm afraid.

i would expect that for a mint group 4 shell alone would be in excess of 10k. but 50k does seem quite alot.
get it lit

Hi
The thing is though there is at least 35k of parts alone gone in to it. Assuming they are all what the seller says they are.
A fresh MK2 GRP4 these days costs 60k - 80k to be done to the full spec such as the ones that Mcrae and Burns had built for them.
And as for using it. Of course you would. With a bit of caution mind.
Cheers Matt
