check you nuts please gentlemen/ladies

just out for a quick blast
had an annoying rattle on lefthand bends stoped to look wiggled all the wheels found nothing carried on still with the rattle.

closer inspection at home showed the right hand lower ball joint nut was lose by lose i mean about to drop off ?!!!!

and yes it is a nylok nut!!!!

Oooh I've had that. Except it did drop off.... and the suspension flew apart and the lower suspension arm dug into the tarmac and I swerved to a stop quite rapidly.

Top tip!!! Get a tippex pen from a pound shop and (after torquing up the nuts) draw a line down the exposed bolt thread and over the nut. It makes a quick bolt / nut check very easy- you just make sure the tippex line still ines up. Job done.....

Or maybe worth wire locking your vitals?

I'd put a grin at the end of that but maybe that's taking the 'nuts' euphemism too far!!
