Robin Hood / GBS Zero
Jumbo - 14/3/14 at 04:02 PM

PLEASE READ THE BELOW CAREFULLY

I will list everything that I asked when I bought the car: -

• Registered on the 1st August 1985 as Robin Hood (as V5 states)
• 7 former keepers (previous owner acquired it on the 24th June 2006)
• Currently SORN (can tax at new owners expense)
• MOT ‘d until 9th April 2015 (no advisories)
• Car was written off in an accident in approx 2009/2010
• Previous owner to me then stripped the usable parts and purchased a Zero starter kit from GBS (invoice from GBS to confirm)
• Car was inspected by VOSA to put back onto the road (certificate to prove)
• Car has now had 3 MOT’s since being rebuilt (last one being 14th March 2014)
• Total mileage since rebuild 2334 (as at 14th March 2014)
• I have a BIG folder of invoices / receipts to confirm much of / all of the above and below

Spec: -
2.1 pinto with 205 ford motorsport block
Flowed ported big valve head with rockers
Fast road piper cam
Zx9r bike carbs (Bogg Brothers Manifold)
Bestek ignition
Racing battery (very small and light)
Plumbed in oil catch tank
Adjustable vernier pulley
5 speed box
Quickshifter
Drivers seat is on runners (I’m 6ft 3inc and do not have the seat all the way back)
ETB dials
Gaz springs both stiffness and height adjustable (I have the settings quite high due to speed bumps)
Interior is carpeted
138bhp at wheels on Torque Tunes rolling road (no documentation to prove equally no reason to doubt)

1. When the car was rebuilt the previous owner employed the services of Automotive Solutions & Racing in Langley Mill to do much of the work (invoices to confirm)

2. Work on the engine was done by Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield (invoices to confirm)

Updates in my ownership: -

1. New silicon hoses (from FASTdan) for the bike carbs as previous were too short and kept on coming off, no problems since new ones fitting with smaller jubilee clips
2. Small motorbike indicators with the correct relay
3. New TRS driver’s harness (broke the buckles by sitting on them on the old one!!)
4. Change of oil, filter and plugs end Aug’13 (before coming off the road for the winter)
5. 15” Team dynamic alloys with correct spigot rings (2 have kerb marks, 2 are very good)
6. Quick release steering wheel with extended boss (better driving position for me)
7. New ETB temperature sender unit

Known problems
Choke is not connected (but cable is supplied), needs “encouragement” when it’s really cold. No problems when its warm.

Very small piece of fibreglass missing from arch when I clipped it moving my bike in and out of the garage (you perhaps wouldn’t have noticed unless I had said)

As previously mentioned 2 alloys are kerbed

Its loud, won’t make any tracks that have a limited of under 100db

So there you go, I have been as open and honest as I can. In a perfect world I would like to p/ex for a fast road car (must be road legal) with cash either way or I would like £3900 (no flexibility).

Contact details are garyhickman100@hotmail.com or pm me via the site.

Is this incorrectly registered? The original was written off ( a Robin Hood 2B no doubt) and the "new" car was given the old car's identity to avoid IVA?

It would appear to be sailing "very" close to the wind !

The previous owner took a lot of advice directly from GBS and also the DVLA on how to ensure that all legalities were adhered to. When I insured the car I made sure that all the history was mentioned upfront including insisting they make a note on the insurance policy that it has a new chassis, it wasnt a problem and nor did it affect the premium.

tis just a "reshell",ok the "shell" may not be exactly the same as the original but if the DVLA say it,s ok then it,s ok.

Seems straightforward to me, wait for the raft of posts doubting it though.
Cheers,
Bob

Totally understand that my car would spark "debate" however this is a for sale post and would respectfully ask that any questions are directing to be via the contact points clearly identified in the orginal listing.

The above request is not because I'm trying to hide anything it's because i fear that people's opinions are exactly that opinions and sometimes without fact.

If the history of my car bothers you, thanks for your time and look elsewhere other wise lets keep on topic eg "Car for sale".

Thanks in advance.

Glad to see youve made a sale but sorry you have had to part with it.

Ive just sold my Indy today too. It was good to find a buyer who will appreciate it but really sad to see it go nontheless.
