Wanted : plastic bushing for Sierra rack
mstepien - 21/10/08 at 10:58 AM

Hi,

Does anybody know where I can get a plastic bushing that closes the housing and supports the rack for Sierra non-assisted (or are these the same) steering rack ?

Mine got broken and local mechanic discourages me from using copper one (that I made) since these shall not only support but also damper vibrations.

Thanks for help.

Regards,
Michal

Thanks for all the answers.
Andy,
It's not the one I am looking for. This is the steering shaft bushing while I am looking for the steering rack bushing that gets into the steering rack housing to support the rack and keep all the grease in.
I tried a Ford dealer (in Poland) and they've told me that they don't even know what am I talking about (they are of the "I need a chassis number so I can look in my Ford provided software" type). And trying to chase the rack on the scrap yard is a bit of a pain in the neck.
I keep looking.
Regards,
Michal
