What is the best paint to use on my wishbones? And does it need a primer etc?
Sorry for being vague but im a bit dumb when it comes to paint
IMHO.. The POR15 paints and preperation products from frosts are very very good.... Not cheap... but worth it IMHO!
How about wrapping it in carbon fibre cloth, for all the material it would use...
might look good with the pivot tube painted gold then the whole thing lacquered, might be a bit chav for some
Dont know about paint im afraid but from experiance when prepping them for paint remove any sharp (square) corners from the plates - id be gently rounding them off (small rad) first.
Why not send them and get them powerder coated? alot of places will coat black for not much cash
hhmmm powdercoat is an option i guess, Can you touch up powdercoat with paint? Knowing me ill end up putting some chips in it along the way,
Also i want to paint them blue
After having seen this http://www.electrostaticmagic.co.uk/ working at the Stafford show I am thinking of putting it on my Xmas wish list
Excellent finish and V.quick. Be great for things such as W/Bs
Bit long-winded for a chassis I guess, I don't have an oven big enough!
I'm acid etch priming mine, with a enamel top coat.
I've heard they get chipped quite easilly so this way once a year I can give them a quick refresh if needed.
Apparantly applying the top coat while the primer is still part wet (flashed off) is the best way.
I'm no expert though!!
