Has anyone used this model to paint a car if is it any good?
Screwfix
I fancy having a go myself but don't want to spend a fortune.
Not that model but a similar type. More for "rough and ready" finishes
where you'd normally slap it on with a brush. Probably ok if you're prepared
to do a lot of flatting and polishing afterwards.
i have used it loads of times but i can paint with anything as i have done loads of painting ,you can get a very good finish with it ,but you need
another jet for it im sure i got mine for free from them

Yes I've also used one very similar.
As has already been stated you will have to rub down a lot of orange peel ,but the over spray compared to a regular comp. fed ( non HVLP) gun is
negligable.
(ie. More paint ends up on the panel!)
If you get your paint right they are as good as any other method of spraying. I used to use one which belonged to a friend's dad and they were
amazed how good a finish it gave as he had had no success with it. I just thinned the paint twice as much as they did and it was superb on an old
Escort and a Transit.
Edit to add my father in law once painted his car with one powered by a vacuum cleaner and it was still reasonably well finished and only needed a
quick cut and polish to finish it off.

Thanks for the answers may just give it a go the less overspray is the thing I was looking for as planning to do it in a single garage.
I painted a whole car years ago using a similar gun. Finish was ok but needed rubbing down.
I was using celulose paint which never got as hard as modern paints ans so got scratched easily.
What type of paint are you planning to use?
