I need to get my crank pulley adapted for the blower install.
I just need four holes drilling into it and the holes tapping BUT it obviously needs to be spot on otherwise I'll get all kinds of horrible
resonation especially when I bump up the red line to 9.5k....
So anyone know of any machine shops who are good value and able to do precision stuff like this. Presumably the pulley would need mounting on some
kind of spindle to ensure the holes were all epicentric?!?!?

Hi
Have a search on ebay
There are some engingeering companies offering thier services.
I've bought matgierials from here but not sure if they do milling / lathe work
Linky
quick search found this.

Is the blower part of a kit? Does it have instructions for mounting the pulley?
Personally I wouldn't be be happy using the bolts for location, the pulley should either fit on to a spigot or be dowelled in place to ensure the
alignment is spot on.

Aha! cheers for the Ebay headsup.
It's a homebrew installation I'm afraid
I agree re getting it spot on is going to be tricky, especially as I'm having to use a spacer device......
I might be using dowels though to avoid stress raisers on the bolt edge....

So do you have the spacer made already then?
What I'm trying to get at is how are you going to ensure the spacer is true to the bottom puley?
If the spacer fits on to a spigot then the bolt positions are not critical and could be bored on a pillar drill if nescessary.
If the spacer DOESN't locate on a spigot then the only way to ensure it runs true would be to true up the bottom pulley in the lathe chuck, bolt
the spacer to it and then turn the spacer to size. Then you would bore both pieces for dowels before you unbolt them to make sure they always go
together in exactly the same place.
Post some pics of all three pieces if you can, my intrest is piqued now
How much would you consider reasonable to pay to have this done? I'm considering starting to do homers as a side line but people tend not to
realise the time involved.
