1/2 inch reamer
sprouts-car - 8/5/09 at 12:45 PM

Hi all,

I'm looking for a 1/2 inch parallel sided flat ended reamer.

I found this and asked the seller if it was parallel sided, but he didn't seem to know.

Just wondering if anyone knows a good online source of such things.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Try www.tracytools.com or Tunes Engineering Service in Slough (can't find a website for them though.
Cheers, Pewe

That is a straight reamer so the sides will be parallel, that's what straight reamers are. If it's not tapered it's straight.

How do you know its straight not slightly tapered?

The guy replyed saying "There's a slight taper to the start & paralell to bottom"

All reamers have a slight taper at the start to enable it to enter the hole, hand reamers have more of a taper as it takes more effort to get the reamer started (hand reamers have a square end to the 'handle' to allow the fitment of a wrench, machine reamers have a morse tapered end) HTH
