I'm getting my garage ready at the moment and bought some epoxy 2 pack for my floor from firwood.co.uk/

Only ordered it yesterday and it's here already !!!

Anyway, they've advised me that I should put in aggregate to both coats to prevent slippage when the finished floor is wet.

I'm wondering though if that will make it harder to clean up spills like oil or coolant ?

If i don't use aggregate I'm assuming that I'd end up with a smooth wipe clean surface.

Has anyone else used this type of covering ? And if you used aggregate how easy is it to keep clean ?

You need to put something in it or it will be really slippy - with most epoxys you can just add building sand to create a semi abrasive finish - even if you only add that to main walkway areas i.e around the car.

lay the epoxy first to get the smooth finish then once cured mask off the area you want to add anti slip to, then add a really thin layer to the masked off area using a roller - and scatter the sand on, wait till it cures, remove the tape brush off the loose , voila perfect floor.

By aggreagates, do you mean stuff like sand?

If so, about a million years ago, I did a project at college making climbing holds, and to cut a long story short - I had to dry building sand in an oven and then seive it, before it would mix properly.

think I'll go with it.

Pour your paint into something shallow and add sand as you need it or it disappears to the bottom and you have to keep stirring it back up to the top. Get the kiln dried sand in sealed bags or it will stay in one big lump.
