Because of Mr SVA I had to glue some rubber trim onto my brushed SS steel exhaust cutout - after the trim 'fell off' some of the glue and
rubber had melted onto the surround.
I ended up using Mr dremmel to remove the excess but have scored the surround in the process and was wondering what methods/tools I should use to try
and restore the surround to the same brushed effect of the rest of the surround
I dont mind a bit of effort to get it back to looking well but the cutout only cost me approx £30 so no biggie if I need a new one.
I use scotchbrite pads on my SS exhaust can when I clean the seven. You get a nice brushed effect but perhaps you've scored the trim so need to
use silicon carbide paper first.

Scotchbrite pads. Scrub the SS in the same direction. This will give it pretty much the same finish.

Spray the pad with WD40 aswell, we do this with our brushed stainless instruments at work if we scratch them, comes up spot on !
thanks for the info - will pick up some scotchbrite tomorrow and see how I go
