Easy way to drill rivet holes upwards!!
stevegough - 16/10/09 at 09:04 PM

I Guess a great number of you have gone through the shoulder - kn*ckering operation of lying on your back and repeatedly drilling upwards for rivets (for instance).

Not a nice job, but after doing 42 of the 66 holes - I had a rare brainwave - trolley jack (and a little 8mm spanner to make it easier to open and shut the valve).

You don't even need to lie on the floor!

See the two pics.....

Regards, Steve.

Most of us took the easier option of turning the chassis over

dan__wright - 16/10/09 at 09:08 PM

or just turn the chassis up side down.....

this way is much more simple

Arrr haaaa! So ashgabat is the ckc contributor. I enjoy reading your build progress each month. Keep up the good work. And to the op- great idea, shame it took 44 bfore you thought of it eh! Hehe!

Thanks for the replies, guys, but I was referring to riveting the bottom edges of the side panels - there is too much assembled to turn the chassis over now.

BTW, I also get ckc monthly - well spotted, Dangle ! and Ash is doing well - much faster than me - I've just passed the first 365 day milestone, and still only got two wheels on!!
