Tig welder advice

I'm thinking of a tig to weld some aluminum, short burst of bead rather than a continous weld. I found these on the bay of e, has anyone had anything similar? I mean are these chinese goods worthwhile?

I did quite a bit of research into this a few months ago when I was seriously thinking about buying one...

This company http://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/

Looked quite good... yes they import chinese gear, but they have good wanraties and parts supplies! So chances are if it goes wrong they should fix it.

The postage is a bit steep on top of the purchase price and it doesn't have a foot pedal, which you will end up needing, so for the overall price I think you could go with a known brand that you can be sure of the quality of.

Ive got the SWP Invert-R Tig200P.

The front looks exactly the same different colour though.

Mine cost a lot more than that on on Ebay ( i got the foot pedal too)... id like to think the cost difference is justified by the quality of the electronics inside the box

These people are UK based...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Cobel-TIG-200A-Pulsed-Inverter-TIG-AC-DC-Welder-Pedal_W0QQitemZ260492368845QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3ca68e 1bcd

and they often have AC/DC tigs selling for the £400 mark

I've got an R-Tech Tig 201 AC/DC unit - it does everything I want (and more...)
No problems since I got it last year.
If you want to do alloy, best to get the foot pedal for that fine control.
I have used mine to TIG alloy tanks, mainifolds down to 1mm thick with no problems.
