Four Post Lift?
motorcycle_mayhem - 15/12/09 at 07:03 PM

I guess I might be asking if anyone's got a lift they're looking to move on, or know of one. It'd make a change seeing one that's been better looked after than the trashed examples on ebay.

BUT, the other thing, and probably the main one - has anybody used/tried/owned one of those Hamer 4-post lifts, based on the Hi-Lift jack. I've has quite a few 'interesting' moments with my Hi-Lift in/on the Land Rover to know that they're not 100% user-friendly.

Thanks for any comments, much appreciated.

Have a look in your local Yellow Pages for a garage equipment dealer, they sometimes have S/H lifts for sale. An old Bradbury takes some beating

hi-lift jacks are designed to be unstable - the idea is that you raise your land rover (or for that matter, other vehicle), then push the lot out of the rut. danerous buyisness.

the jacks themselves are dangerous too - there was some poster on LR forum that lost an eye when the handle went off.

4 post lift bsase on them is all a bit of a bodge IMO.
