I have one of these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cat65-air-angle-die-grinder-set/path/air-files-grinders-riveters
but the stones in it are crap and wear down really quickly with little effect on the metal.
Its useful for getting in places where the angry grinder wont get due to size, but i need some more substantial grinding discs or stones.
Was watching american hotrod last night and they had what looked like a grinding disk on a shaft in a similar tool, but i cant find them anywhere.
anyone know what im looking for or where to get them?

carbide burrs are probably more like what you need.
like this...

plenty on ebay

I was looking at them but ive heard bad things about them snatching and almost snapping wrists!
all to do with how you use them.
Angle grinders can rip all the skin off your arms. These can snap your wrist.
Or, used carefully and sensibly they are fine.
Some info here on the tools to use from Guy Croft....

I use diamond burrs (nicked from work ages ago) for machining metal. They're superb and work even better when dipped in parifin first. They do
not tend to snatch but they must never be overheated by pressing too hard as that will damage the diamond very quickly

so very little pressure and let the tool do the work?
Lubrication and light presure id the answer

I had one exactly like that form Machine Mart. The Angle Gears wore, and eventually locked up. I wasnt impressed.
Although its handy to get into nooks and crannys that a straight mini grinder cant get into.
Useful tool but dont cane it too hard. Mine didnt last much more than a year.
I'll have another, just cos they are useful.
lubrication is no problem! i set up my oil feed too high and its now pouring fluid down the hoses!
everything i work on is getting plastered in compressor oil!
thought they may have been using a air cut off tool as
air grinder
what are you actually trying to grind, ive got the straight air die grinder and as long as the chuck speed maintained at max rev's (a problem
with small compressors) and a course grinding stone seems to be ok, but thats just using it for smallish areas

you may be thinking of 3m twistloc discs available 50mm and 75mm dia, needs an arbour to fit the chuck, available from brown brothers etc
I use one of these;

Its got little 3" discs, and are perfect for cutting thin sheet in awkward places.
For deburring, just use a sharp double cut flat file.
