Anyone in Herts/Beds got a length of scaffold I can borrow?
scudderfish - 5/3/10 at 12:53 PM

Trying to get the nut off the end of my crank and I just can't get enough leverage. Does any kind soul have a length of scaffold I could borrow to get the bugger off? Seen some nice impact wrenches that could do it, but >£150 to get one nut off is a little excessive.

Regards,
Dave

Have you got a compressor? If so I've got an air impact gun you could borrow.

ooo, don't tempt me. I've already got a welder I haven't used yet. Don't get me started on air tools

(Off to see the price of compressors.....)

I was going to try and concentrate on cleaning the car up ready for the new engine arrival (which may be Sunday anyway), but if you give me a buzz today or tomorrow, i can drop it over when youre there, or jsut leaving.

Thats ok, the zinc coating can be ground off to a deegree, so that it can be welded.

Thanks all for the offers. With the help of Richard's pole, I've now got the bugger off. Finbar Saunders would be proud
