you can get used proper 2 post lifts for around £1500 that will get the car 5-6 foot off the ground so you don't need a silly clapped out car seat with wheels on the bottom.

that hamer one looks like something i would get pissed off with in 5 mins. its a nice idea but its too expensive for what it is.

Most 4 posters are 3-Phase

if you were going to get a proper lift, a 2 post makes far more sense. they're a lot more versatile.

the foundation requirememnts are a bit more demanding though

Hi-Lift jacks are wonderful tools.
However they can be a bit on the dangerous side. You must always leave the operating arm in the upright position. As they can snap upright, and could break your arm if you have your arm between the handle and the upright portion (or just even a finger or thumb)
I know, I have one and have used it many times. The bloke who sold it to me (Dave Bowyer Off Road in Devon) would not let me leave his premises untill he had given me a 20 minute training session (all for free).

Hi-Lift jacks are excellent tools, if used correctly. Used incorrectly you can give yourself some nasty bruises or worse.

Just be safe, and take care... You know it makes sense.

Personally, I would go for a 2 post lift.

Just my 2 d's worth.

thanks for the advice
i was only looking at the hamer because its portable and can be packed away when not in use.
i have seen the one on ebay but i need a longer one so i can get my van on it.

a 2 post would be good but i dont have the space width wise. or a heavy enough duty electric supply in my workshop.
