Hi all my old compressor has just broke [ motor ]
so i was thinking of getting a new one can any one tell me if the Aldi one is any good.
I have lots of air tools ie impact wrench /cut off tool / air hack saw etc.
Also if i connect my old tank to the new compressor would it be better for using the above tools

for the air tools you need 9cfm plus and I would say a 100 plus litre tank ideally

I was using mine today.

Using the cutoff saw, it struggles to keep up. Really struggles.

For a short burst on the impact driver, it's fine, but continuous use, no.

A few people have a couple of them doubled up, but the volume must be a bit fierce because one is noisy enough.

A bigger receiver would be a very good thing indeed.

I'm delighted I have mine - had it about 3 years now.

All I'm saying is that short bursts rather than continuous use is what it's best at.
My impact driver was invaluable today, the cutoff saw struggled a bit with extended use.
It's still well worth having.

What pressure do they go up to 150lbs ?

The problem with all these small/hobby compressors is the volume of the cylinder. Fine for inflating tyres or short bursts on an air wrench, but they don't like spray guns, cut off tools, grinders, etc. Think they're all rated to 150psi.

Of all the Aldi compressed air kit, the hose reel is probably the best value. At under £40 it's the identical thing (painted blue instead of red), Sealey are selling for £90+vat trade. It's cheaper than the same length of hose from anywhere else... and it's good hose. I've got 2 in daily use in the workshop for the last 2 years; One small spring broke but was easily replaced.
For the price we treat it as disposable kit anyway; I can buy and break 10 Aldi air ratchets for the price of one quality one.

I went out to aldi and got the air cut off saw and the air nibbler cutter all are just fine and got 3 years warranty how cool is that very locost

I'm running two Aldi compressors linked together, gives me double the capacity and double the power. I've not had any problems with them.

got one yesterday with the air gun, cut off saw and air ratchet all for £115.00.

going back for the hose reel today (thought i had enough hoses)

good value and o.k. for hobby / occasional use i would say

the air ratchet and gun both come with a set of sockets as well!!!

Be aware that the Aldi warrenty is only any good if you have the reciept AND the original packing, so keep the box.

i need me a new air hose actually, i think more leaks out the holes than makes it to the tool!
