bad idea or terrible idea?

i'd prefer to spray it obviously, but with the weather as terrible as it is, and my rush to get everything put back together, i'm losing patience with the weather, it supposed to snow tomorrow and wednesday

will brush painting look terrible or crap

Depends what you're using it on. If it's something like an axle or wishbone that's going to be underneath bodywork it's perfectly adequate. If you're painting highly visible areas I would say no chance, particularly if you're talking about large areas. Celly dries too fast for brushmarks to disappear whilst drying.

brush it on and flat it down with 1200 paper,
then do it again.with a final flat with 1500 and polish it up. it might be quicker to spray it!

ah yeah, its for my axle. the axle can be seen from the back of the car, so want it to look reasonable, but doesn't have to be perfect. its also fluorescent paint, if that makes any difference to it?

Id say it will be ok to brush on for the diff just not bodywork.

You can get brushing thinners for cellulose paint which dries much slower than standard thinners.

I'd agree with the posters here. It might be a bigger job to paint it with a paintbrush and then having to prepare the surface again to spray, than just to spray paint.

get it painted and on the road.you can always flat it and spray it next time its off the road...........

Why not use a gazebo? It makes sense: it can be used in most conditions!!! Cheap from Argos, and are great for outdoor mechanics!
