A few months ago the motor on my compressor packed in .
I have found a replacement motor the thing is i don't know which direction the motor / compressor should turn
how can i find out ?
Thanks
Jacko
How much will it matter? The valves will only see the piston going up & down & not know the direction of rotation, it's not like a
4-stroke engine where the valves are mechanically operated, it's just the air flow that works them.
The only concern I might have would be if it needed to rotate a certain way for the oil to get distibuted properly.
Does it have a fan built into the pulley? I'd expect it to blow air over the cylinder barrel rather than suck it from it.
Has the flywheel got fins if so airflow should be going from the flywheel to the pump.
Cheers,
Bob

there should be a marking on it somewhere. usually the fan housing.
