Has anyone ever done a car detailing course and maybe could recommend one?

Lesson one: Shopping. Soap, wax, sponge, cloths.

Lesson two: Clean really, really, really well including hidden areas.

Lesson three: Polish really, really, really well.

Lesson four: Repeat on interior.


£600 please, your training is complete


Detailing is just a fancy new term for a very thorough valet.

I guess learning to do proper paint correction and polishing... measuring paint thicknesses.... understanding the layers and how to blend them etc... would be quite an interesting course...

How about doing chipsaway training instead?

i did smart repairs for 4 years....alloy wheels, bumper scuffs, windscreen chips....

if you wanted to go into this field, paintless dent removal is where to look....

courses where about 1500pounds with tools supplied.....it was a 3 day course....

smart repairs can also be weather dependent.....as i found out.....

My cars get a wash every 6months if they need it or not. Clean out the sweet wrappers when they start falling on the floor coz the bins are all full.

If your lifespan was 1345 years there would be time for 'detailing'

I think the Americans call it 'detailing' to make it sound less like 'cleaning'

think the difference between valet and detail (at least for me) is time, tools, technique.

I have done the AG course and had davekg down to teach me correct rotary use.

Was it worth it? For me yes.
