Bolt selection box
londonsean69 - 29/6/10 at 07:45 AM

Morning

I have had a bit of a search on here, and on google, and can't seem to find anything.

I am looking to buy a decent selection of bolts and set screws. I don't really want to be buying packets of 50 or 100 when I might only need 4 or 6, so am after some sort of selection box type affair.

I can find them for smaller sizes of sets, eg. up to M8 with a couple of M10, but I am after something that has plenty of M8, M10 and M12, in lengths upto around 80mm.

Any suggestions? Failing that, anybody know of a good place I can put together my own selection, where they sell in packs of 10??

Cheers

Sean

Orbital fasteners in Watford are pretty good, and quite cheap.

For odd sizes, I go to my bolt specialist... but to be honest they are quite expensive...

Namrick are even more so!

I would seriously suggest getting to screwfix and buying half a douzen boxes of bolts and some bags of nuts...

Get some long set screws... you can always cut them to length later...

you never know when an odd bolt will come in handy.

I always have boxes of M6, M8, M10 and a few M12 knocking about...

KwikFast in Witham have a minimum order of a tenner When I priced up bolts for various jobs (seats, cage etc) it came to £18 from online sources Kwikfast charged me £5 then ended up spending another £20 on tools

Cheers for the replies guys.

Am sorted now, getting a Namrick selection for the smaller stuff, and a few from screwfix for the bigger bits.

Where ever you get them from make sure that they are the correct grade and quality for purpose.

Many thanks for the further replies, but I am sorted.

The toolstation selection box doesn't have the larger sizes I need.

I am getting grade 8.8 BZP.

A2 stainless is not really suitable for this application, as the SVA man will want to see the grade on them.

he sold a complete bolt set for the roadster for £15.00

Parker Steel have a Parker Tools section which seems to have cheap nuts & bolts.

They are priced in 100s but you can buy smaller amounts at the same individual price.
