Aluminium Extraction Flutes; Some Pictures
2cv - 26/9/10 at 12:47 PM

I've just managed to squeeze this in before the hols but afraid the air scoop will have to wait for a week or two until I'm back.

I think these flutes look quite good and are certainly effective in taking heat out of the engine bay.

I hope the photos are self explanatory but please ask if you have any questions. Always use a pencil to mark a line rather than scoring which will promote cracking. Bend the flanges up a little at a time working evenly down the length. The pointed end you really only have to break the line, I initially bent it too much. Anyway, here are the pics. I forgot, the material is 1mm thick pure aluminium grade 1050A.

Two final pictures. I now have a half set of spares, so not a complete waste of time. Seriously I hope this exercise may encourage others to have a go. it really is very rewarding.
