Anyone with access to a 3D printer?

Does anyone have access, or know someone who has access, to a 3D printer?

I have a cunning plan...

Don;t think a "printed" chassis will wash with the IVA.

So odd - Just yesterday I got an email advert from HP offering me a deal on a new 3d printer (£11,050). I wonder how much the running costs are (not that I can afford the printer itself!)

Someone on the Haynes forum has one and he was selling small chassis. Looked amazing, but its not a cheap process, so even if you found someone doing it at 'mates rates' it would (or should) still be expensive.

EDIT: here it is....

Cool stuff, thanks. I'm looking at "printing" an ITB setup. It could be contained within the volume of a shoe-box, so it's nowhere near a whole chassis...!

I'll try some of those contacts and then report back later.

Another option would be lost-wax casting - anyone know how I could go about doing this? Is it possible to just send a CAD model to a foundry and ask them to make one?

You may want to speak to RazMan - he's just done something similar and found it FAR cheaper to get it made in Asia and sent to him. I believe he sent incomplete drawings, they figured out / discussed the missing bits and then made them.
