Morning all

As usual when all else fails this site normally produces the answers. I've lost my string level and need to replace it. Most local stores B&Q etc look at me blank when I describe one and the internet comes up with loads of sites on how to use but no one seems to stock them.

So any idea where I can find one, preferable high street and if my terminology is wrong what is the proper name for these to avoid getting blank looks.

Oh sorry in case you're not familiar with one it's a really small bubble level with a hook at each end allowing you to hang it from string, ideal for ensuring things like fence post tops and large areas are level where a spirit level is too short.

Hi

B&Q have one but it is part of a chalk line kit (so string on a reel and a bottle of blue chalk and string level) for just less than £8. They are with the hand tools in my local store.

Often called a Plumb Line or Plumb Bob.
Toolstation sell them, page 188 on new catalogue.
Anywhere like that will sell them, ie Screwfix, Toolstation, Wickes, B&Q, builders merchants.
