To make a rotary file / polisher get a piece of tube or bar that will fit into your drill, cut it along it's length for about 40mm and spread the cut slightly so as you end up with something along the lines of a tuning fork. You can then insert a strip of your chosen grade of 'Scotchbright' or abrasive into the fork end. When used in a drill or a die grinder the abrasive wraps itself around the tube and forms a rotary file.

When inserting the abrasive it should be arranged so that the centre of the abrasive strip is inserted into the fork, the spinning action of the drill will then wind the surplus material around the mandrel and 'lock'it in place.
